The Deanship of Student Affairs, represented by the Guidance and Counseling Unit, organized a training workshop titled "Psychological First Aid" on Wednesday evening, October 15, 2025, as part of the Mental Health Forum, via the Teams platform. The workshop was presented by Dr. Anwar bint Hammad Al-Rashidi, Associate Professor of Counseling Psychology.

The workshop addressed the concept of psychological first aid and its importance in early intervention to support individuals during psychological crises. It reviewed the practical steps for providing support according to the ALGEE methodology, which includes approaching the situation with caution, listening without judgment, providing appropriate support and information, encouraging requests for specialized assistance, and activating community support sources.

The workshop aimed to enable participants to understand the principles of psychological first aid, enhance the university's role in spreading awareness of mental health, and prepare community members to effectively deal with stress and psychological crises. The workshop witnessed significant interaction from the attendees, thanks to its scientific and practical content, which contributed to strengthening the concepts of psychological support and dealing effectively with difficult situations.

Through these programs, the Deanship of Student Affairs affirms its commitment to supporting mental health promotion initiatives and providing individuals with initial psychological support strategies for non-specialists. This contributes to providing students with psychological and academic care within a supportive and stimulating university environment.
