As part of the Deanship of Student Affairs' commitment to promoting mental health and nurturing the creative potential of female students, the Deanship held a workshop yesterday, Thursday, entitled "Art Therapy." This workshop was part of a series of awareness and development programs aimed at supporting and empowering students to express themselves creatively and safely.
Twenty-four students participated enthusiastically in the workshop, which utilized free-form drawing on canvases, giving participants ample space to express their feelings and thoughts without restrictions or prior guidance.
During the workshop, each student completed her artwork and then offered a personal interpretation of her creation. The participants also discussed the symbolism of the colors used and how they reflected psychological states and inner emotions. This interaction provided a valuable opportunity for self-discovery, a deeper understanding of emotions, and the exchange of experiences among the participants in a supportive and understanding atmosphere.
Such workshops aim to highlight the importance of art as a therapeutic and expressive tool that helps alleviate psychological stress, enhance self-awareness, and cultivate creativity among female students.
