The Deanship of Student Affairs, represented by the Nutrition Unit, held a lecture yesterday, Sunday, April 19, 2026, entitled “Nutrition and Immunity.” The lecture focused on the importance of food in supporting the immune system and protecting the body from diseases.

The lecture aimed to achieve several key objectives, including: raising awareness of the importance of proper nutrition for a strong immune system and disease prevention; introducing essential nutrients and explaining the risks of their deficiency to health; promoting a healthy diet during illness to support natural resistance; and encouraging healthy eating habits while warning against those that may weaken immunity.

The lecture covered several key topics, beginning with the foundations of immunity by providing an introduction to the functions of the immune system and its close relationship to the type of food a person consumes. It also reviewed vital nutrients such as proteins, vitamins, and minerals that support immunity, mentioning their natural sources. The lecture addressed the risks of nutritional deficiencies and their negative impact on increasing the body's susceptibility to infections and diseases. It concluded with practical guidelines on dietary behavior to promote healthy habits and warn against harmful dietary patterns that negatively affect the immune system.
