On the occasion of the International Day for Tolerance, the Deanship of Student Affairs, represented by the Guidance and Counseling Unit, in cooperation with the College of Applied Sciences in Al-Aflaj, organized a lecture entitled "Tolerance: A Lifeline" on Sunday, November 16th. The lecture was presented by Dr. Rashid Al-Lahyan and was well-attended by students, who actively participated.

The lecture began by emphasizing that tolerance is a noble human value and an inherent principle in Islamic law. It was also stressed that tolerance is essential for contemporary life, which requires coexistence, respect for diversity, and the alleviation of psychological and social pressures. Dr. Al-Lahyan addressed several key themes, including the meaning and status of tolerance in Islam, its psychological and social effects, skills for acquiring it, and the most prominent behaviors that promote a culture of forgiveness and forbearance in society.

He also highlighted shining examples from the Prophet's life that exemplify the highest forms of tolerance, such as the Prophet's forgiveness on the day of the conquest of Mecca. He emphasized that tolerance is not a weakness but rather an inner strength that elevates a person and purifies their heart from resentment. The lecture witnessed significant interaction from the attendees through questions, comments, and practical activities, all aimed at practically reinforcing this virtue in students' lives and daily interactions.

At the conclusion of the event, the Deanship of Student Affairs expressed its gratitude to Dr. Rashid Al-Lahyan for his valuable and insightful presentation, and to the College of Applied Sciences in Al-Aflaj for its cooperation in organizing the event. The Deanship affirmed the university's commitment to continuing to offer programs that promote ethical values and support mental health and social harmony among students.
