About the Guidance and Counseling Unit
The Guidance and Counseling Unit, within the Deanship of Student Affairs, is committed to supporting students’ academic success, personal growth, and overall well-being by providing professional counseling and guidance services in a safe, confidential, and supportive environment.
The Unit offers a comprehensive range of services, including academic, psychological, social, and career counseling, through structured and accessible procedures that ensure timely support for every student in need.
Since the University’s establishment in 1430 AH (2009), counseling has been recognized as an essential complement to the teaching and learning process. By helping students navigate academic and personal challenges, the Unit empowers them to develop resilience, strengthen their personal capabilities, and achieve academic excellence while promoting positive mental health and overall well-being.

Our Services
Academic Counseling
Academic counseling supports students in overcoming challenges that may affect their educational progress, including academic performance, learning and memory difficulties, repeated course withdrawals, examination anxiety, and changing academic majors.
Family Counseling
Family counseling provides support for students experiencing family-related challenges, including difficulties in family relationships, conflicts with parents or siblings, family instability, or the absence of a supportive home environment. The service also considers the impact of family dynamics and social surroundings on students’ well-being and academic success.
Psychological Counseling
Psychological counseling assists students in addressing emotional and mental health concerns such as low self-esteem, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, shyness, depression, aggression, social withdrawal, persistent self-criticism, excessive daydreaming, difficulty accepting reality, and other psychological challenges.
Social Counseling
Social counseling helps students strengthen their interpersonal and communication skills, build and maintain positive relationships with peers, overcome feelings of isolation, engage effectively with faculty members, and successfully integrate into both university life and the broader community.
Student Support Services
Student Support Services provide guidance on university procedures, direct students to the appropriate administrative departments, explain the required steps for resolving issues, and assist them in completing university services and administrative processes efficiently.
