<p>In the presence of His Excellency the University Vice President for Educational and Academic Affairs, Professor Dr. Mishari bin Ayyad Al-Osaimi, and in the presence of the Director of Al-Kharj Governorate Police, Colonel Muhammad bin Abdulaziz Al-Salhi; Yesterday, Monday, 11/5/1445 AH, the Deanship of Student Affairs held a closing ceremony for the “Together for a Conscious Society” campaign at the University City Theater.<br>
The ceremony began with the Saudi Royal Anthem, then with verses from the Holy Qur’an, after which a speech by His Excellency the Dean of Student Affairs stated: Welcome to the closing ceremony of our awareness program, which constituted an important milestone in the journey of building and developing the university student as a distinguished personality who is resistant to challenges. This program witnessed a group of events and activities that were launched from the university’s strategic goals, which set in mind the care of its students and the provision of a safe, healthy environment for them. And idealism, creating a positive aspect in their academic and social lives, spreading a culture of awareness and building their life skills, and being active members of their society. This was followed by a screening of a documentary film about the campaign, and an awareness video about drugs and their harms.<br>
At the end of the ceremony, His Excellency the University Vice President presented a memorial shield to His Excellency the Director of Al-Kharj Governorate Police, after which the winners of the Best Awareness Video Competition and the Guidance Excellence Award for the year 1445 AH were honored.<br>
The ceremony included an accompanying exhibition on awareness of the harms of smoking and drugs, and on bullying and an explanation of its harms and dangers.<br>
It is noteworthy that the “Together for a Conscious Society” campaign was launched by the Deanship of Student Affairs, represented by the Guidance and Counseling Unit, and lasted for about three months.</p>
