On Monday 8/5/1440, the Deanship of Student Affairs organized the University’s First Athletics Championship. The event took place at Sho’la Club; six of the University’s colleges participated.
The tournament comprised a number of competitions, such as running, javelin throwing, discus throwing, triple jump and long jump.
The Faculty of Sciences and Humanities in al-Kharj ranked first, whereas the PYP ranked second, and the Community College ranked third.
At the close of the tournament, Dean of Student Affairs, Dr Thallab bin Abdullah al-Shakra, and the Dean’s assistant for student activities, Mr Jamal bin Hamad al-Hamdaa, decorated the winners and handed out awards to them. They also decorated the referees.
The organization of this championship was meant to foster talents and to help students prepare for the Saudi Universities Sports Federation championship, which is going to take place at King Abdulaziz University (KAU) in Jeddah next week.
